Created in 2016, "Ink Traces No.3" is an early work from Zhang Tingqun’s “Brushstroke Experiment” phase. It combines acrylic and calligraphy brush techniques to create a poetic structure where bold brushwork and blocks of color intertwine.

Artist's Statement

Compared to later works, this piece is more direct and primal. The calligraphy brush traces weave through the color layers, appearing as both writing and strokes, yet maintaining a strong sense of rhythm and direction. It marks a key moment in Zhang Tingqun’s exploration of "writing as painting."
